Ingredients

Scale

Sandwich Ingredients

  • 4 sub rolls, sliced lengthwise but not all the way through
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 6 ounces sliced ham
  • 6 ounces sliced salami
  • 6 ounces sliced pepperoni
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced banana peppers, drained
  • 1/3 cup sliced black olives (optional)

Seasoning and Topping

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Baking Sheet: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and for easy cleanup.
  2. Assemble the Sandwiches: Place the sub rolls on the baking sheet and open them slightly without cutting all the way through. Layer the bottom of each roll with provolone cheese, then add ham, salami, and pepperoni evenly over the cheese.
  3. Add Toppings: Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the layered meats. Then, add sliced banana peppers and black olives if you choose to include them.
  4. Prepare Seasoned Oil: In a small bowl, combine olive oil, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a flavorful oil mixture.
  5. Brush Rolls: Brush the tops and the inside of the sandwich rolls with the seasoned olive oil to add moisture and seasoning during baking.
  6. Sprinkle Parmesan: Evenly sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the tops of the sandwiches for a savory finish.
  7. Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the cheeses are melted, bubbly, and the bread turns lightly toasted.
  8. Serve: Remove the sandwiches from the oven, let them cool slightly for ease of handling, then serve warm for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • For extra freshness and crunch, add sliced tomatoes or shredded lettuce inside the sandwiches after baking.
  • These sandwiches can be wrapped tightly in foil and reheated in an oven for quick meals on busy days.
