Description

These Big Mac Wraps offer a lighter twist on the classic fast-food favorite by using lean ground beef and high-protein wraps. The recipe features a homemade tangy sauce reminiscent of the iconic Big Mac special sauce, combined with seasoned ground beef, crisp iceberg lettuce, cheddar cheese, pickles, and onions, all wrapped up for a convenient and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Beef Patties

  • 1 lb lean ground beef (about 450-500 grams, 90% lean or higher)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • â…” teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 3 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

Sauce

  • 2-3 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt (1 -1.5 oz or 30-40 grams)
  • 1.5 tablespoons light mayonnaise (about 20 grams)
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup (0.5 oz or 15 grams)
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard or Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish (0.5 oz or 15 grams)
  • ½ teaspoon pickle juice (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Pinch of smoked paprika

Wraps & Toppings

  • 4 large high-protein wraps or flour/whole wheat tortillas
  • 1.5 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup diced or sliced dill pickles
  • ¼ – â…“ cup chopped onion (optional)

Instructions

  1. Beef Patties: In a bowl, combine the ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Form the mixture into thin patties. Heat a skillet over medium heat and pan-fry the patties for 2 minutes on each side until nicely browned. Remove and roughly chop the patties for use in the wraps.
  2. Ground Beef Option: Alternatively, in the same or a clean skillet, brown the ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper over medium heat. Add Worcestershire sauce and optional chopped onions, cooking until the beef is fully browned and slightly crispy on the edges. Set aside.
  3. Make the Sauce: In a bowl, mix together plain Greek yogurt, light mayonnaise, ketchup, yellow or Dijon mustard, sweet pickle relish, optional pickle juice, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning to personal preference, balancing tanginess and sweetness.
  4. Warm the Wraps: Heat the wraps briefly in the microwave for a few seconds or warm them in a dry pan to make them more pliable and warm.
  5. Assemble the Wraps: Lay each warm wrap flat and spread an even layer of the prepared sauce. Top with chopped or ground beef, shredded iceberg lettuce, shredded cheddar cheese, dill pickles, and chopped onions if using.
  6. Wrap it Up: Roll the wraps tightly like a burrito. For an optional crispy finish, toast the wrapped burritos in a skillet for 1–2 minutes on each side until golden brown and slightly crunchy.

Notes

  • Using lean ground beef helps reduce fat content while maintaining flavor.
  • The sauce can be adjusted with more or less pickle juice to suit your taste preferences.
  • For a lower-carb option, use low-carb or high-protein wraps.
  • To save time, you can use pre-cooked ground beef instead of making patties.
  • Optional toasting of the assembled wraps adds a nice texture and warmth.
