Main Ingredients
- 1 bag frozen tater tots
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 cup pickles, sliced
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup chopped lettuce (optional)
- 1/4 cup sliced jalapeños (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat and Bake Tater Tots: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Spread the frozen tater tots evenly on a baking sheet and bake according to package instructions, usually about 20–25 minutes, until crispy and golden.
- Cook Ground Beef: While the tater tots are baking, cook the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain any excess fat, then stir in the taco seasoning and a splash of water. Let it simmer for 5 minutes, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Assemble Tater Tot Base: Once the tater tots are done, remove them from the oven and evenly sprinkle the cooked seasoned beef mixture over the tater tots.
- Add Cheese and Melt: Top the dish with shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese. Return to the oven for an additional 5-7 minutes or until the cheese has melted and is bubbly.
- Add Fresh Toppings: Remove from the oven and top with sliced pickles, diced tomatoes, chopped onion, ketchup, and mustard. Add optional toppings like chopped lettuce and sliced jalapeños if desired.
- Serve: Serve immediately while hot and enjoy your delicious Cheeseburger Tater Tot Nachos!
Notes
- You can customize the toppings based on your preferences, such as adding jalapeños for heat or lettuce for freshness.
- For a spicier flavor, consider adding hot sauce or spicy taco seasoning.
- Make sure to drain excess grease from the cooked beef to keep the dish from becoming too oily.
- Tater tots can be substituted with crumbled hash browns or fries if preferred.
- Serve with sour cream or guacamole on the side for added creaminess.
