Description
Delight in these easy-to-make Chocolate-Covered Strawberries, combining fresh, juicy strawberries with rich, melted semi-sweet chocolate. Perfect as a simple yet elegant treat for parties, romantic occasions, or a sweet snack anytime.
Ingredients
Scale
Strawberries
- 1 pound fresh strawberries (washed and dried)
Chocolate Coating
- 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the baking sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent the strawberries from sticking after dipping.
- Melt the chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and optional coconut oil. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring well between each, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
- Dip the strawberries: Hold each strawberry by its green stem and dip it into the melted chocolate, covering it completely. Allow any excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl for an even coating.
- Place on baking sheet: Lay the chocolate-coated strawberries on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them slightly apart so they don’t stick together.
- Set the chocolate: Refrigerate the strawberries for 15 to 30 minutes until the chocolate hardens and sets completely.
- Serve or store: Enjoy immediately or keep them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days to maintain freshness.
Notes
- Ensure strawberries are completely dry before dipping to help chocolate adhere better.
- Coconut oil is optional but helps achieve a smoother chocolate coating.
- You can substitute semi-sweet chocolate chips with dark or milk chocolate as desired.
- Serve chilled for best texture and flavor.
- Store in a single layer to avoid chocolate smudging.
