Ingredients
Scale
Salmon
- 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
Sauce
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp honey
- 3 tbsp lime juice
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1/4 tsp ground cumin (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Other
- 4 sheets of aluminum foil (large enough to wrap the salmon)
- Lime wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare for baking the salmon.
- Prepare Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, honey, lime juice, minced garlic, chopped cilantro, cumin (if using), salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Assemble Salmon: Place each salmon fillet on an individual sheet of aluminum foil. Drizzle the cilantro lime honey garlic sauce evenly over each fillet.
- Create Foil Packets: Fold the sides of the foil up around the salmon to create sealed packets, ensuring the sauce is enclosed to keep the salmon moist while baking.
- Bake: Arrange the foil packets on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- Open Packets: Carefully remove the packets from the oven and cautiously open the foil to avoid steam burns.
- Serve: Serve the salmon hot, garnished with extra fresh cilantro and lime wedges alongside your choice of side dishes.
Notes
- For added flavor, you can sprinkle extra fresh cilantro on top before serving.
- Ensure the foil packets are tightly sealed to keep the steam inside and cook the salmon evenly.
- If you do not have fresh cilantro, fresh parsley can be used as a substitute, though the flavor will be different.
- The ground cumin is optional but adds a warm, earthy flavor to complement the citrus and garlic.
- Adjust baking time depending on the thickness of salmon fillets to avoid overcooking.
