Fudge Ingredients
- 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 14 oz (1 can) sweetened condensed milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
Instructions
- Prepare the Pan: Line an 8×8-inch square baking pan with foil, allowing the edges to overhang for easy removal. Lightly spray the foil with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Combine Ingredients: In a heavy saucepan over medium-low heat, add the chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and unsalted butter.
- Melt and Stir: Stir the mixture constantly to ensure the chocolate chips and butter melt evenly, resulting in a smooth and creamy consistency. This process takes about 7-8 minutes.
- Pour and Spread: Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the prepared pan and spread it evenly using a spatula to create a uniform layer.
- Chill to Set: Place the pan in the refrigerator and allow the fudge to set firmly, preferably overnight for best results.
- Cut and Serve: Once the fudge is firm, lift it out of the pan using the foil edges. Peel away the foil and transfer the fudge to a cutting board. Cut into 42 small squares and serve.
Notes
- For easier cutting, warm the knife slightly before slicing the fudge.
- You can substitute semi-sweet chocolate chips with dark or milk chocolate depending on your preference.
- Store leftover fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
- Allow the fudge to reach room temperature for a few minutes before eating for a softer texture.
