Ingredients
Scale
Crescent Roll Dough
- 2 (8 oz) cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
Filling
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon (about 4 slices)
- 2–3 fresh jalapeños, seeded and finely chopped (adjust to spice level)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Egg Wash & Garnish
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Optional garnish: sliced jalapeños, chopped green onions
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and facilitate easy cleanup.
- Prepare Filling: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, crumbled bacon, chopped jalapeños, garlic powder, and salt. Mix until smooth and well blended to create a flavorful filling.
- Arrange Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles. On the prepared baking sheet, arrange the triangles in a circle with the wide ends overlapping at the center and the pointed ends radiating outward, resembling a sun-like shape.
- Add Filling: Spoon the jalapeño cheese mixture evenly along the wide ends of the triangles near the center of the ring, ensuring an even distribution for every slice.
- Shape Ring: Fold the pointed ends of the crescent dough over the filling and tuck them under in the center to seal the ring securely, trapping the filling inside.
- Egg Wash: Beat the egg and brush it over the dough ring to give it a shiny, golden finish once baked.
- Bake: Place the ring in the preheated oven and bake for 20–25 minutes until the crescent dough is puffed up, golden brown, and fully cooked through.
- Garnish and Serve: Allow the ring to cool slightly after baking, then garnish with sliced jalapeños or chopped green onions if desired. Slice and serve warm for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- Adjust the number of jalapeños to control the spice level according to your preference.
- Make sure cream cheese is softened to easily blend with other ingredients.
- Using parchment paper helps prevent the ring from sticking to the baking sheet.
- For a vegetarian version, omit bacon and optionally add more cheese or veggies.
- Serve warm for best taste and texture; it can be reheated gently in the oven if needed.
