Description

Morton’s Steakhouse Chicken Christopher is a flavorful chicken recipe featuring tender boneless, skinless chicken breasts marinated in a savory blend of soy sauce, honey, garlic, and lemon juice, then pan-seared to golden perfection and topped with a luscious thickened sauce. Perfect for a quick yet elegant weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 3-4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)

Marinade and Sauce

  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • ½ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1-2 tbsp cooking oil (for searing)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the marinade: In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, lemon juice, minced garlic, and cornstarch until smooth to create the marinade.
  2. Marinate the chicken: Add the chicken breasts to the marinade and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes; marinating overnight will enhance the flavor even more.
  3. Preheat the skillet: Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add enough cooking oil to coat the pan evenly.
  4. Cook the chicken: Remove chicken breasts from the marinade, letting excess drip off. Sear the chicken in the hot skillet for 5-7 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F / 74°C).
  5. Make the sauce: After removing the chicken, pour the remaining marinade into the skillet. Stir constantly over medium heat until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy, which usually takes a few minutes.
  6. Serve: Place the cooked chicken on plates and drizzle generously with the thickened sauce. Serve immediately for best taste and presentation.

Notes

  • Marinating overnight will significantly increase the depth of flavor in the chicken.
  • Use low-sodium soy sauce to control the saltiness of the dish.
  • Make sure the chicken is cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) for safety.
  • You can add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the marinade for a spicy kick.
  • Serve with steamed vegetables or rice for a complete meal.
