Instructions
- Chill Blender: Chill your blender jar and pitcher for 10 minutes if possible to help keep the beverage cool and fresh during blending.
- Blend Ingredients: Add the peeled and pitted peaches, cold water, granulated sugar, fresh lime juice, and vanilla extract to the blender. Blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth.
- Strain Mixture (Optional): For a smoother texture, strain the blended mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a separate pitcher, removing any pulp or fibers.
- Mix in Cream: Stir the strained or unstrained peach mixture well, then gently fold in the heavy cream or half-and-half to create a creamy swirl effect without fully homogenizing.
- Refrigerate: Refrigerate the mixture for 15 to 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and chill thoroughly.
- Adjust Flavors: Stir the chilled agua fresca again, then taste and adjust sweetness by adding more sugar if desired, or balance acidity with a bit more lime juice.
- Serve: Serve the Peaches and Cream Agua Fresca over ice cubes for a refreshing and cool beverage experience.
Notes
- Peeling the peaches enhances the texture and smoothness of the drink.
- Adjust the sweetness according to the ripeness of your peaches and your personal preference.
- The cream adds richness, but you can use half-and-half for a lighter version.
- For a vegan alternative, substitute heavy cream with coconut cream or a plant-based creamer.
- This beverage is best served immediately or within a few hours of preparation.
