Scale
Base Layer
- 1 cup butter, melted
- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1 to 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 cup creamy natural peanut butter
Topping
- 1 cup creamy natural peanut butter
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Combine Base Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, graham cracker crumbs, powdered sugar, and 1 cup of peanut butter. Mix thoroughly until you get a smooth, uniform mixture.
- Press Base Mixture: Transfer the mixture into a 9 x 13-inch pan and press down firmly and evenly to create a solid base layer.
- Melt Chocolate and Peanut Butter: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the remaining 1 cup of peanut butter with the chocolate chips. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the mixture is completely melted and smooth.
- Spread Chocolate Topping: Pour the melted chocolate-peanut butter mixture over the prepared base and spread with a spatula to form an even layer.
- Refrigerate to Set: Place the pan in the refrigerator for 1 to 2 hours or until the bars are firm to the touch.
- Cut Bars: Remove from fridge and cut into 54 bars or your preferred size portions.
- Store and Serve: Store the bars in the refrigerator or freezer and serve them chilled for best taste and texture.
Notes
- You can adjust the amount of powdered sugar between 1 to 1 1/2 cups depending on desired sweetness.
- Use creamy natural peanut butter for best texture, but smooth peanut butter also works.
- Press the base layer firmly to avoid crumbling when cutting.
- Microwave in short increments and stir often to prevent burning the chocolate.
- Bars can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week or frozen for longer storage.
