Description

Samoa Truffles are decadent, bite-sized treats combining the flavors of crushed Samoa cookies, cream cheese, caramel, and coconut, all dipped in rich melted chocolate and garnished with toasted coconut. Perfect for parties or a sweet indulgence, these truffles are easy to make with no baking required.

Ingredients

Scale

Truffle Mixture

  • 1 box of crushed Samoa cookies or vanilla wafers
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 3 tbsp caramel sauce
  • ½ tsp coconut extract

Coating and Garnish

  • 8 oz melted dark or milk chocolate
  • ½ cup toasted coconut (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the crushed Samoa cookies or vanilla wafers, softened cream cheese, caramel sauce, and coconut extract. Mix thoroughly until a sticky dough forms.
  2. Shape Truffles: Roll the dough into small balls about 1 inch in diameter. Place the balls evenly spaced on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Chill Dough Balls: Refrigerate the shaped truffles for 30 minutes to firm them up and make dipping easier.
  4. Melt Chocolate: While the truffles chill, melt the dark or milk chocolate using a double boiler or microwave in short intervals, stirring until smooth.
  5. Dip Truffles: Remove the chilled truffles from the fridge and dip each ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring complete coverage. Place the coated truffles back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Garnish: Sprinkle toasted coconut over the chocolate-coated truffles while the chocolate is still soft to help it adhere.
  7. Set Chocolate: Refrigerate the truffles for another 30 minutes or until the chocolate has fully set. Once set, they are ready to serve and enjoy.

Notes

  • You can substitute Samoa cookies with vanilla wafers if Samoa cookies are not available.
  • For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate.
  • Make sure the cream cheese is softened to easily combine with other ingredients.
  • Store the truffles in the refrigerator to keep them firm and fresh.
  • Use a fork or a dipping tool to coat the truffles evenly with chocolate.
