Scale
Shrimp and Noodles
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 8 oz noodles (spaghetti, rice noodles, or your choice)
Sauce and Seasonings
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp chili paste or Sriracha (adjust for heat level)
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp sesame oil
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional for extra heat)
Garnishes
- Chopped green onions
- Sesame seeds (optional)
- Fresh cilantro (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the noodles: Cook the noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain them thoroughly and set aside to keep warm.
- Sauté garlic: Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, taking care not to burn it.
- Cook the shrimp: Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside to prevent overcooking.
- Prepare the sauce: In the same skillet, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, chili paste or Sriracha, sugar, sesame oil, water, and rice vinegar. Stir well and bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat.
- Toss noodles and shrimp: Add the cooked noodles back into the skillet with the sauce, tossing to coat them thoroughly. Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss everything together for another 1-2 minutes until heated through and evenly coated with the sauce.
- Add heat and garnish: Sprinkle red pepper flakes over the noodles if you want extra heat. Garnish with chopped green onions, sesame seeds, and fresh cilantro as desired.
- Serve: Serve the spicy garlic shrimp noodles immediately while hot and enjoy a flavorful, quick meal.
