Ingredients
Scale
Protein
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
Vegetables
- 2 jalapeños, sliced (seeds removed for less heat)
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp ginger, minced
Sauces & Oils
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp honey
Seasoning & Garnish
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Heat the oil: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat to prepare for cooking the chicken.
- Cook the chicken: Add the thinly sliced chicken breasts to the hot skillet. Season with salt and pepper, then stir-fry the chicken until it is cooked through, about 5-6 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Sauté aromatics: In the same skillet, add the sesame oil along with the minced garlic and ginger. Sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant, to build a flavorful base.
- Cook the vegetables: Add the sliced jalapeños, red bell pepper, and broccoli florets to the skillet. Stir-fry the vegetables for 3-4 minutes until they are crisp-tender and vibrant in color.
- Combine chicken and vegetables: Return the cooked chicken to the skillet with the vegetables, mixing them together evenly.
- Add the sauces and honey: Stir in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and honey. Toss everything together to ensure the chicken and vegetables are well coated. Continue cooking for another 2 minutes to heat through and meld the flavors.
- Garnish and serve: Remove the skillet from heat. Garnish the stir-fry with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if using. Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
Notes
- For less heat, remove the seeds from jalapeños before slicing.
- You can substitute chicken breasts with thigh meat for a juicier texture.
- Adjust the amount of honey to balance the spice level to your preference.
- Serve immediately to keep the vegetables crisp-tender.
- Leftovers keep well refrigerated for up to 2 days and reheat quickly in a skillet.
