Description
Create a fun and festive Halloween treat with these Spider Web Pretzels. Crunchy pretzel sticks are arranged in a circle and held together with smooth melted chocolate, then decorated with a spider web design for a spooky, sweet snack that’s perfect for Halloween parties or everyday fun.
Ingredients
Scale
Chocolate and Coating
- ½ cup mini chocolate chips
- ½ cup white chocolate chips
- 2 teaspoons coconut oil (divided)
Base
- 32 pretzel sticks
Optional Decorations
- Halloween-colored sprinkles
- Candy eyes
- Small candy spiders
Instructions
- Melt the Chocolate: In two separate bowls, melt the mini chocolate chips and white chocolate chips respectively with 1 teaspoon of coconut oil each. Use the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is smooth and fully melted.
- Prepare the Pretzel Webs: Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange 8 pretzel sticks in a circle on the parchment paper for each spider web, ensuring one end of each stick meets at the center to form the web’s frame.
- Create the Web: Transfer the melted chocolates into separate ziplock bags and snip off a small corner from each. Starting from the center of the pretzel circle, pipe the chocolate in a spiral moving outward to the edges, making sure the lines are thick enough to hold the pretzels together securely.
- Add the Web Design: Using a toothpick, gently drag lines from the center outwards through the chocolate spirals to create a realistic spider web pattern.
- Decorate: Before the chocolate sets, add any desired Halloween-themed decorations such as colorful sprinkles, candy eyes, or small candy spiders to enhance the spooky look.
- Set the Webs: Place the baking sheet in the freezer for 10-15 minutes until the chocolate hardens and sets completely, stabilizing the pretzels in place.
- Enjoy: Once set, remove from the freezer and serve these festive spider web pretzels at your Halloween party or as a fun seasonal snack.
Notes
- The coconut oil helps the chocolate melt smoothly and harden with a nice shine.
- For easy piping, make sure the chocolate is warm but not too hot to avoid burning your hands when handling the ziplock bags.
- You can substitute the pretzel sticks with pretzel rods cut into smaller lengths if preferred.
- Store any leftover webs in an airtight container in the refrigerator to keep the chocolate firm.
- Experiment with different colored white chocolate by adding food coloring to customize your spider webs.
